Air Canada lands in Moscow
You’d smile too if you were one of the two flight attendants on the inaugural flight from Montreal to Moscow on November 1, 1966. Air Canada launched the first direct air link between North America and the USSR with that route, which took a DC-8 jet nine hours to reach the stopover in Copenhagen – also the first Canadian service to Scandinavia, but who’s counting? – and another two hours for the last leg to the Soviet capital. Na zdorovie!
