Five million ticket buyers!
In 1954, reservation offices across Canada are staffed with workers who provide service 24 hours a day. Hotels all over the country have TCA ticket offices, including the Corona Hotel in Edmonton, The Sheraton- Mt. Royal in Montreal, the Hotel Vancouver, and the Royal York Hotel in Toronto (which is just a seven-minute walk to the Air Canada Centre today). At the Chateau Laurier in Ottawa, the Transportation Room announces TCA flight departures on the hotel PA system. In 1954, the company’s reservation personnel handle a whopping five million telephone calls!
