Letter from a first-time flyer
“This is the first time I have ever stepped off the Earth – and, fortunately, I did so on a TCA North Star. TCA is too modest. You don’t stress strongly enough the wonderful thrill of actual flight. I suppose it would require a poet/scientist to do justice to the physical freedom and 'lift,' the emotional exhilaration and satisfying esthetic experience that you get flying TCA.
"My own opinion is that riding a TCA North Star is the closest you can get to heaven; it’s an experience no human being should miss. Besides, it gives you a new and unusual sense of the oneness of Canada. As you watch the provinces slip beneath your eyes in all their colourful beauty – the breathtaking magnificence of the Rockies, the rich checkered Prairies, the small lonely farms, the brilliant welcoming cities – you discover with a freshness and impact never achieved by history books or geographies that this is one country, our own, peopled with fellow Canadians who happen to be farmers, fishermen, lumbermen or city workers.”
