Pilot hits 10,000 flying hours
Pilot René Giguère becomes the first TCA pilot to hit 10,000 hours flying with the company in 1949. That’s over 3,200,000 kilometres worth of piloting. A veteran of Canadian aviation, Giguère is one of TCA’s first employees. Starting in a clerical capacity in September 1937, he began his flight career with the airline in December that year and became first a flight instructor and then a check pilot.
