G. R. McGregor becomes president
G. R. McGregor takes the helm of TCA in 1948. The oldest fighter pilot and top-scoring RCAF ace to serve in the Battle of Britain, and a member of the first unit on the continent after D-Day, McGregor will preside over TCA for 20 years. His strong, down-to-earth leadership inspires the company’s tremendous growth spurt; under his leadership, TCA will grow into one of the top 10 air carriers in the world, offering flights to London, New York, the Caribbean, Paris and Düsseldorf. In 1953, McGregor is also elected IATA President.
